CollegeTransit has been providing safe, convenient and enjoyable transportation for JMU Students for over 10 years during the Thanksgiving & Winter Breaks.  Founded by a JMU alumnus, our service has been extended to include Homecoming, Spring Break and other chartered events that require our assistance.  Our destinations are listed here.  If you would like CollegeTransit to consider a new destination, please tell us about it.

Our premium service allows you to travel directly from Godwin parking lot on the JMU Campus to one of a number of strategic drop-off points.  Don’t forget to bring a movie to help pass the time.  We leave it to the students to decide what movies to bring and watch.

*New England students should use our bus to BWI Airport and then connect with Southwest or JetBlue Airlines

CollegeTransit versus Picking up your student:

Compare the total cost of the trip which requires 4 one way trips in gas, hotel and of course the value of your time against our ticket price. 

Other Destinations:  Due to student population & ticket costs, it's not always possible to provide affordable transportation to all major metro areas.  That is why we provide service to the BWI Airport & Amtrak station.  From there you can connect to the major airline carriers (including Southwest) or take the train the rest of the way.

BWI Flights should be scheduled 2 hours after scheduled BWI arrival time and 90 minutes before scheduled BWI departure time.

*CollegeTransit reserves the right to use smaller 31-passenger coaches or passenger vans on the BWI route for small groups.  Note these options will not have a bathroom and has limited luggage space.

Scheduled Trips for 2012 - 2013 Include:

Thanksgiving Break - Completed
Depart the JMU Campus on Friday, November 16th and return Sunday November 25th.  Destinations include NY, NJ, PA and BWI Airport in MD.

Winter Break - Completed
Depart from the JMU Campus on the last day of finals. Destinations include NY, NJ, PA, CT, MA, MD and BWI Airport/Amtrak in MD.
 

Spring Break- Completed
In order to serve the students who are flying for Spring Break, CollegeTransit will provide services between JMU and the Baltimore-Washington Airport/Amtrak station; as well as our traditional northern destinations in NY, NJ & PA.  Leave JMU on Friday, return the following Sunday.
